Acidic

sugared eyelids

brushed by cotton candy hair

blowing in the wind

I glide atop iridescent wings

through ancient lands and

kiss strangers in the sticky fog

the cavalry is closing in

pitchforks and hovercrafts

they always come up empty

time is mine

utopia in my fingertip

I can make the earth dance

is anything beautiful

or am I enhancing things again

turning dust to diamonds

so I am hunted

this power to find opulence

even in the dullest times

my mind my strongest weapon

I cannot fathom a world without its stars

they gleam so brightly

if I die let me keep my soul

take every other sensation

all I need is my dear sweet imagination

Hello, hello! Thank you for coming to read my poem, Puppeteer. I don’t really like the idea of getting into specifics when it comes to inspirations behind most creative works, but especially poetry. I just think it really is written one size fits all- in other words, however…
